Editorial Photography

My editorial photography focuses on arts, culture and heritage, creating images that explore the relationship between people, objects and place. Working to commission and collaboratively, I produce photographs that support cultural narratives with clarity and visual restraint, responding thoughtfully to the context and purpose of each editorial brief. The work is informed by my documentary practice, bringing depth, attentiveness and an understanding of social and historical frameworks to my commissions.
When working with heritage-related subjects, I approach each project with care and precision, recognising the responsibility involved in representing collections, sites and cultural activity. Whether collaborating with institutions, publications or cultural organisations, I aim to create images that are informative, engaging and sensitive to context, contributing meaningfully to editorial storytelling and public understanding.
Presented here is a personal selection from the many thousand editorial photographs I have made during my career, including those commissioned by JANVS-VIÐAR and others through other agencies including UNESCO, the Council of Europe and McKinsey&Co.
