Sheffield is a city forged through industry, internationally renowned for its historic association with steel-making, engineering, and manufacturing.

During the Industrial Revolution, Sheffield became synonymous with cutlery and stainless steel production, its workshops, foundries, and rolling mills shaping both the landscape and the identity of the city. Rivers running through the valleys provided early power for grinding wheels and heavy industry, helping establish Sheffield as one of the great manufacturing centres of northern England.
