Humber Bridge

York is one of England’s most historically significant cities, a place where nearly two thousand years of history remain visible within the modern urban landscape. Founded by the Romans as Eboracum in AD 71 at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss, its strategic position enabled it to develop into an important military, administrative, and trading centre. The city later flourished under Viking and medieval rule, becoming one of the most influential urban centres in northern England.
